Nickelodeon + Nintendo team up with Beyonce and Sir Groovy

for the Style Savvy commercial

Style Savvy is a fashion video game published by Nintendo, released for the Nintendo DS. The video game turns players into managers of a virtual boutique. As part of the game's launch campaign, Nintendo partnered with R&B star Beyonce and children's channel Nickelodeon to promote the game to its key demographic, young girls.

The commercial premiered on Nickelodeon, featuring Beyoncé playing Style Savvy on her Nintendo DS. In an interview before the shoot she says "Fashion is something I've been familiar with my whole life,". So when Nintendo tapped her to represent its product, she was happy to oblige.

During post-production of the commercial, the editors at Nickelodeon reached out to Sir Groovy to help them find music that would best connect with their audience. Sir Groovy's team recommend the song "Ha Ha Look at me now" by Los Angeles band Deanna Lee and Mike Geier. The song gave the commercial an upbeat, positive vibe which was just what the Nickelodeon team was looking for.
